Hey everyone! This is going to be one of those posts where I compile a lot of people’s opinions in as well as my own. Anyway, let’s get started…

The girl who came up with the second-place idea for the Create Your Dream Island Contest is Tori V. of Texas, also known as Quiet Berry. You can read about her island idea, Bikers vs. Boards Island, on the Creators’ Blog.

Remind you of something? Well if it doesn’t, I’ll explain. Here’s a snippet from the Creators’ post:

The pitch: Poptropicans try to stop the constant fighting between the bikers and surfers before anyone gets hurt.

Why we liked it: Tori’s Island idea had a great setting — a beach in the 1960s — and lots of fun ideas for gameplay. (Who wouldn’t want to surf and ride a motorcycle?) We also liked the message about helping two rival groups to understand that their differences aren’t as important as what they have in common.

At first I didn’t see anything wrong with it, but then HP and I were talking to each other later and he said the island was not original. I was like, how so? Turns out, she pretty much copied the storyline of Teen Beach Movie. I was blown away! This is the storyline (with some key words bolded):

Life’s a beach for surfers Brady and McKenzie — until a rogue wave magically transports them inside the classic ’60s beach party flick, Wet Side Story, where a full-blown rivalry between bikers and surfers threatens to erupt. There, amidst a sea of surfing, singing and dancing, Brady and Mack accidentally change the storyline, and the film’s dreamy hero and heroine fall for them instead of for each other!

In her interview, Tori even admits that her idea was inspired:

Poptropica Creators: How did you come up with the idea for your Island?
Tori: I got the idea from a movie I was watching that day.

Also, notice the ’60s beach party & bikers and surfers in the summary? This pitch also mentions bikers and surfers; and one of the reasons the Creators liked the island is because it was in a ’60s setting. Then, Scary Plug also pointed something out that I thought was really worth mentioning:

Remember that post by the Creators with tips to win the Create Your Own Dream Island contest? Tori’s idea may have stood out because of its “interesting time period” – but whatever happened to “no licensed properties”? Re-read what the Creators said about what the entries should include here, and you’ll see what we mean.

This was what Scary Plug had to say about the issue:

The Creators said the phrase above themselves. Yup, read the post over and over again until you find the phrase ‘So make sure that everything in your entry is an original idea!’. Ehem! What about Bikers vs Boards Island, Creators? The island is obviously based on the movie Teen Beach Movie, and you said the island must be ORIGINAL. You guys lied to us; how pathetic. :(

And here’s my take: I think the Creators messed up and they need to apologize for their mistake. I could have sent in the plot for MIB 3 if I wanted to and I still might’ve had more of a chance than an original island idea someone invented.

I hope none of you are offended by this post, but it had to be said.

Runner-up #2 in the CYDI contest

The next runner-up of the Create Your Dream Island contest, without further ado, is…

Fashion Crisis Island!

Now, even though I’m not that big on fashion :lol: , I still am pretty impressed and pleased that this girl won. I’ve never heard of the idea being used, and the prospect of an island based on the costumizing feature is pretty smart –

When you’re on Fashion Crisis Island, you must recover a stolen line of clothes for a very famous designer right before an important show.

Is it just me, or is it strange that all the winners up until now have been girls? I’m excited to see a boy’s idea, but in the meantime, I’d like to congratulate Elsa W. of Illinois – or Bronze Fox — for the awesome idea and the impressive ranking. :D Here’s why the Creators liked the idea:

Costumizing is one of the most popular things to do on Poptropica, and yet we’ve never made an Island based entirely around using the Costumizer. Elsa’s idea presented a lot of opportunities to let players create new costumes. It was also set in the the 1940s, which we haven’t done before, and featured some famous fashion icons as characters.

More music men

Kyle Fox now has a Soundcloud, and he’s uploaded his few but wholesome tracks that he’s made for Poptropica. I want to give him a shout out for all the music work that slips by as Jeff Heim’s — I personally love the MFB theme. :D

Another unknown composer for the theme and sound effects of the Forgotten Islands app has now been uncovered: Bob Baffy! The theme sounds great as do the sound effects, and I hope he might do more soundtracks for Poptropica in the future. ;)

Jeff Heim recently posted a Demo Reel for his work on Poptropica, including a new Villain theme for the island Super Power. Sounds awesome!

Mythology SUI offers easier River Styx

As mentioned the recent PCB post, the upcoming Mythology Island SUI is going to have an easier River Styx scene (check it out here), and I immediately had to check and see what it was like. Well, they weren’t lying — all you do is jump over an alligator and you’re home free!

I wonder if they’ve made any of the other hard parts of the island easier — maybe the red eyed snake game and the Aphrodite test. Either way, I’m happy! :P

Who is Catie?

There’s a question that remains a mystery, and that question is “Who is Catie?”. Written on a wall on Virus Hunter Island, we see “Catie was here” scribbled onto it. Designers often do this sort of thing in Poptropica – for example, in Mocktropica, written on the wall in the Poptropica Headquarters is “Nasan was here”. Nasan Hardcastle is a designer for Poptropica, and he wrote it there. So who is Catie? An unknown designer? There are multiple possible answers.

Catherine Prentice is a writer for Pearson, but it seems unlikely that she would be designing anything. There’s also Catherine Gilliland, a person who strangely liked a Poptropica tour on YouTube, and that was pretty much it. Who do you think Catie is? We may never know…

And did you notice the view count on the tour? Over 5 million hits!

Night Watch book may be coming soon

Here’s some forewarning — a written book for Night Watch Island may be coming soon. Why? First, I don’t think that they will be releasing books for all of the islands — just a select few that have a strong enough story and cast of characters to work with. For sure, Night Watch Island has a pretty good story to begin with, but I’m not just going out on a limb like that. You guys know I wouldn’t do that. ;p

Around mid-2012, around the time that Night Watch Island was being made, multiple preliminary sketches for the illustrations for the book pertaining to Cryptids Island were posted to the Daily Pop. Around the same time, a sketch looking very similar to the drawings for Cryptids Island was posted — showing the rare Cat Burglar costume being worn and the Poptropican posing in multiple positions. I have a hunch that the picture was actually some preliminary sketches for a new book pertaining to Night Watch, where a Cat Burglar contributes to the plot. What do you think?

EDIT: There was a court case against Pearson Education and the wrestler “Shark Boy” concerning the use of the name on our beloved Shark Boy. It was dismissed and Pearson was not fined, but could this possibly be connected to Shark Boy’s disappearance?

I just want to make a quick post about the disappearance of Shark Boy, and this is pretty major — the Shark Tooth plush and plastic toys have been removed from stores and the toy page!

If that wasn’t enough, the Shark Boy costume that you get from buying the Shark Boy plastic toy now shows as “Shark Costume”, even though that the original was named “Shark Boy Costume”…

But there still are a few traces of Shark Boy left in the world of Poptropica:

(Don’t worry, non-members – it’s not much different than the original Mythology, and you’re not missing out on much. I hope it doesn’t become a regular occurrence though. :( )

Hi everyone! Something’s up with the upcoming Mythology SUI, because if you change the URL of the player map, you can now find the new player map! (No one has completed it yet, though :P )

You can find the uncompleted Mythology SUI medallion in your medallions list as well — note that the original Mythology medallion is still there — will we be keeping both the CPI (classic pop islands) and SUI island medallions?

Lastly, they’ve uploaded the advertisement for Mythology Island saying that it’s online, although you won’t be able to view it from the in game home page.

It could be coming out tonight (the Time Tangled SUI came out at 8pm UTC), but it also could come out tomorrow. What do you think?

Just in time for its 4-year anniversary, the classic 12th island, Mythology Island, is now available for members, and it’ll release to the public next week! The Creators have uploaded a new version of the trailer video to reiterate the fact that it’s now in sound. If you need help on the island, you can find the PHB’s guide here!

Be careful, Poptropicans- as you know, you’re gonna get into a lot of trouble in this island.

Well, now that I’ve played the Mythology SUI, what do I think of it?

It was… very satisfying. I found the music to fit…usually.

For example, I’m curious as to why the music didn’t change for a moment when Zeus took the 5 sacred items from you. I’m kinda left awkwardly staring as he took them as the soothing music  played in the background. Yeah…

Anyways, about the most notable changes in gameplay…

• The Red Eyed Snake Puzzle: It’s easier! Cue the rejoicing! *YAY!* Now, the snakes come up in groups instead of individually, the red eyed snake somewhere in those groups. This allowed me to finish that puzzle much easier…
• The River Styx: Five words – everything is in slow motion. Also, there’s a new way to avoid the flaming skulls- you wait for it to dive into you and then you jump. Although it took me a while to get used to it, I found it easier…
• The Battle vs. Zeus: Wow, what a change. O.o. The first thing you’ll notice as the epic music is blaring in your ear is the fact that the camera is close up, unlike in the original Mythology Island. Also, unfortunately, due to this closeup, it’s gotten harder to track down Zeus. Here’s a tip: listen to the sounds to know what attack Zeus is doing. If it has an electrical traveling sound, that means he’s got that invisibility blockade on him right now.

Overall, I found the experience to be quite enjoyable- I’m pleased to see that the Zeus battle wasn’t glitchy as I feared it would be, and I’m happy with the result. As I had said when the first preview came out, I am saying hello to a new beginning.

Poptropica Sticker Book Cover and Conspiracy

The Poptropica Sticker Book that I posted about a while ago now has a cover — a mighty fine one at that — and that’s pretty note worthy as it is. But, when I saw the cover, I immediately remembered a place where I had saw it before — laying on a table in a picture of a Poptropica party that the Creators threw – 2 YEARS AGO! How long has this thing been sitting on the Creator’s desk, waiting to be published? A long time. O.o What could have taken them so long to publish this book? Copyright issues? Or have they just not gotten to it? So many questions… This supports some of my theories on Poptropica Books, however, one being the rumor (started by me) about a Night Watch Island book. If they just haven’t published them yet, then we could be having a lot of books that seem outdated or have been rumored for a long time.

Embedding Poptropicans into WordPress Posts

For all you people who use WordPress (.com, of course), you may have wanted at some point to put your poptropican into a post. You go to the Poptropica Avatar Studio, you put in your username, then you copy the embed code that comes up. You put it into your post, and BAM! It… doesn’t come up. You see, for safety reasons (IDK what safety reasons, but whatever), WordPress does not allow you to use embed flash in posts or in WordPress in general. There is a work-around, though, that lets me add my Poptropican to the bottom of this post. The work-around involves (manually) converting the script into a “Gigya Shortcode”. WordPress allows this type of code. But, it is a hassle, and you may not have the intellect to do it. So I did it for you. All you have to do is:

1. Go to the Avatar Studio, and enter your username. When your character pops up, click “view link”.
2. When you’re on the linked page, copy the url of it.
3. Now, paste the link between the empty quotation marks in the following code: gigya src=”INSERT HERE” width=”169″ height=”236″
4. There is one modification to the url you have to make. Change “avatar.html?” to “charEmbed.swf?”. Now, add [ and ] to the front and end of the code. You can also change the numbers (the unit is pixels) within the quotation marks to change the width/height of your embedded Poptropican.

And there you have it!  Your living, breathing Poptropican in your post/page!  I hope you find this helpful! :D You can also use this in the sidebar like Fishy did. ;)

New Poptropica Backgrounds

While playing Zomberry Island recently, I noticed an awesome desktop background on the laptop of the disco dancer. I immediately wanted it, so I downloaded it and got a high quality shot, which you can download here. :D My friend Pixel took it a step further and personalized his background with his name in the center of it. You can make your own personalized background with “PicFont“, and maybe even add a few more things than just your name. ;) I also made a new desktop wallpaper featuring minimal Dr. Hare and Shark Boy! It took me a while, and I hope you like it! :D You can seperate icons using the different colored planes, maybe one for work and one for play, or different types of programs. I might update it in the future, so keep your eyes out for a new version. :)

Apple Bees Costumes Gone!

First alerted by Pixel, the rare “Apple Pie costume” and the “Apple Powered Glasses costume” have been deleted! If you look at the items in your inventory, you’re presented with a blank poptropican with no costume. I personally don’t think it’s right to delete rare items that save to your inventory, as they should be kept (other wise they just look stupid in there).

Also, the “Avatar Studio” card has been removed from the store, perhaps because of the Shark Boy on the front of the card. I wonder if they’ll re upload it with Dr. Hare on the front, or maybe they’ll leave it forever gone, making it a rare. And speaking of rare items, you may have noticed that multiple items that were supposed to be deleted from the store still show for some users. The Ringmaster Costume, Wrestling Gear,  6th Birthday Balloon, and Beta Tester Costume are all items that were scheduled to be deleted from the store, but remain there to this day.

Advertisement Updates

A new ad has popped up on islands such as Skulduggery Island featuring the upcoming movie “Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return”. After you watch the trailer, boys will be awarded with a Flying Monkey Costume (which is pretty awesome), and girls will be awarded a Toto Tote (which is awesome as well).

Hey everyone! The creators just announced the third runner-up, It’s called Golden Mustache Island by Strange Goose!

In my opinion, I thought this island idea was corny but very, very, unique xD! Here’s what the pitch was:

On Golden Mustache Island, people look for where the golden mustache is and who took it!

Well, that is kind of corny but like I said unique! The idea is alright in my opinion, but it would be interesting to see how they made an island like this. Those mustaches bro! :3 Here’s how Emma (Strange Goose) got her inspiration:

Emma: I love mustaches and the 70s. I thought it would be more exciting if there was an idol/statue stolen from the mustachians (instead of Poptropicans :)

Quick post to warn you that at the moment there is no way to log in. When you log in, it redirects the page to the wrong url (poptropica.com/base/base.php instead of poptropica.com/base.php). Whether this is a glitch or not, I don’t know. Maybe they are updating the system with the new profile that was leaked a while ago. Otherwise, we may not be able to log in for a while…

Hey everyone! This might be one of the best island ideas out of all of them and it’s from a boy! XD This island, that was made by Joel B from Ohio, is called House of Cards Island!

I personally thought that the plot was great and it sounds really entertaining. The plot was:

In Card Kingdom, the Ace of Hearts has been stolen from the Heart Kingdom. The King and Queen of Hearts need your help to find it before there is a war

Nothing more like Poptropica than seeing Poptropicans fighting in a war. xD Anyway, I’d say this will probably be my favorite so far out of all the runner-ups and probably even the winner. The reason the creators liked it was:

Joel’s vision of the “Card Kingdom” sounded like an incredibly fun place for us to design. He sent an additional sheet with several characters, as well as descriptions of the traits of each card suit. It was some impressive world building!

Wow, now it’s sounded even more amazing! The way he thought of his island was very unique, how do you think of an idea on a trampoline?!

Poptropica Creators: How did you come up with the idea for your Island?

Joel: My sister and I were jumping on the trampoline after the contest was announced, thinking up ideas for islands and House Of Cards was my favorite out of all of them.

Overall, great idea! Joel, if you read the blog, I want to see more of your ideas! So tell us in the comments! But, I think this island could have won, but only one thing probably prevented it…….The name of the island is a famous tv show……..people copyright this kind of stuff, so Poptropica probably didn’t want to get sued….. Anyway! That’s it! Cya!

The recent episode of the new Mission Atlantis adventure (click here for the PHB’s walkthrough) is the simplest to finish out of the two episodes of episodic adventures that have been released. Still, I still consider it my favorite out of the two, mostly because of the tone. Survival: Episode 1 is really depressing, and the backgrounds do not improve the sad tone. It still is fun, but not as enjoyable to play. Mission Atlantis is a change in tone completely. Everything is happy, warm, and fun, even when the darker parts of the story kick in. Perhaps it has something to do with the blueness of everything (Poptropica’s main color is blue), but the island just feels right. It reminds me of classic Poptropica.

That being said, I’m not looking forward to the upcoming chapters of Mission Atlantis. From the looks of it, all you’ll be interacting with will be pipes and fish. No offence to fish, but I’d rather hang out with something that knows the difference between you and seaweed. The only island that could pull off being alone for the majority of the island is Steamworks, and you have a robot buddy for half of that. I’m not so sure that they’re going to even try to put a little mysticism or mythological properties into upcoming episodes of Mission Atlantis, which is sorta disappointing. And if I have to listen to Cam and his repetitive monologue for another 15 minutes, I don’t know what I’ll do.

The episode itself is quite enjoyable and clever, with a cliffhanger that isn’t as creepy as the last ending in Survival was. As I said before, the atmosphere is great, and everything contributes to that — the music, backgrounds, and characters all make the episode great. My peeves are few, although there are some notable ones:

• The sound when you hit a rock is just unbearable, and when it glitches and repeatedly makes the noise, it scares the life out of anyone who is playing.
• I never really got how you sorta kinda get in front of the pipes; they’re blowing air at you, so how do you clog them?? I can do it, but it just doesn’t make sense. :P
• Dem Sea Dragons move too fast. :P

I rate this episode 4 stars out of 5, although I don’t have much hope for future episodes.

Hi Gs, (yes, I’m back to my old intro, what are the odds :P )

You’re probably wondering about the title, and you should be — I have solid proof this time! Or not. But I’m pretty sure about this, so let’s get started! :D

The picture above shows one of the numerous pop quizzes that abide in the Friends feature. This particular quiz challenges you on what your favorite Poptropica villain is – note that the villains in the list are the main ones – except one. Along with legendary villains such as Captain Crawfish, Black Widow, and Dr. Hare is a not-so-famous villain, El Mustachio Grande (from Wild West Island). Why would he be in the list? That itself seems odd.

But it goes even further; a Daily Pop from the developmental stages of Super Villain Island, which combines some of the most famous villains of Poptropica, shows an apparent mega boss combining the four villains of the island – but you may notice that along with the jester/bunny/artist/pirate look of the robot, there are a couple hints as to something else in the works. Notice the mustache and sombrero kind of hat – some main attributes of El Mustachio.

There still is one more thing about another Daily Pop around that time. Take a look at the sneak peek picture below. It’s showing a primary working of the Prison Lab where the sleep machine and Dr. Jupiter reside on Super Villain Island. Remember, there are only 4 main villains whose dreams you infiltrate – but there is one more sleep containment in the picture. It’s obviously meant for El Mustachio.

The question is, why was El Mustachio taken out of the island? Maybe because he didn’t have a Creator alias, or he wasn’t popular enough – but if that was the case, then what was the motive in the first place? Did he interfere with the story line, or did he just not cut it? What if he was put back into the SUI for Super Villain Island? That would be pretty awesome. :D

Check it out - a new Poptropica comic strip (simply called Poptropica) has debuted, involving the story of two young boys called Oliver and Jorge sucked into a monkey-man-inhabited dimension. It sure looks cool, and there’ll be new strips every day!

Oh, and check out the PHB’s new Comics page, where all the original Poptropica comics are being collected into a database, from Super Hot Dog Boy to unreleased strips of Poptropica!

You can read unreleased comic strips by changing the URL of the comic file. Visit that link and change 2-2 to 2-3 and beyond! :D After 2-7, change it to 3-1, etc. ;) Also, Funbrain has even more strips that haven’t been uploaded to Poptropica’s servers yet.

A hearty amount of it has been released already, and you can keep up to date on the saga via the Daily Pop or Creators’ Blog. The nice thing about the strips is that they look quite authentic to the comic strip style – I’m curious to know who is illustrating them. Hi Gs,

Things have been going awry in the world of Poptropica lately — multiple accounts have reportedly been stolen, including PHB reader Pixel’s main account, Nice Dragon. The password had been changed and look of the character also altered rapidly and frequently.

(EDIT: Pixel got his account back by contacting the Poptropica Creators!) Nice Dragon’s username remains undisclosed, but you can check back on the shape of the account below.

It doesn’t seem to necessarily be about short or guessable passwords either — ND’s password was over 20 characters with symbols and numbers and yet the account was hacked. This means that anyone’s account could be gotten into somehow — best advice is to stay logged into your Poptropica account to prevent a password change.

EDIT #2: I recently received an email prompting me to reset my password, although I had never had that sent — it might be a step in the anonymous hacker way to get into accounts, so please do not enter your password in the link sent with the email. It may lead to your account being stolen. Also, a person named FS claims that he was the one who did it in the comments, although there is no evidence to back this. I’ll keep you guys updated.

EDIT #3: I just got another reset password email — these are sent if someone types in your username and clicks “forgot password”, but you should be safe if you’re the only one who can access your email. If you get an email, please just delete it and disregard it.

Hey everyone! Remember when the Creators announced last week the fourth runner-up for the CYDI (Create Your Dream Island) contest - House of Cards Island? Well, actually, the person who made it saw our PHB post and sent us a more in-depth look at the island he invented that won him a prize of all the Poptropica books! (Just to clarify: This is not going to be a real island, as it was just a runner-up in the contest.)

Joel (Giant Foot) - the island’s inventor - commented on my post talking about his island. I asked him to email me the plot, its characters, and more miscellaneous info about House of Cards, and here’s what he shared. Thanks Joel! Click Read More to read on!

First off, I’ll start with the personalities of each suit. 

The Hearts: They are the most powerful. They are (usually) wise and fair. The queen is very sweet but the king has anger issues. He wants to go to war to find the ace of hearts, but the queen is holding him back… for now. 

The Diamonds: The second most powerful suit. They are conceited, snobby and jealous of the heart kingdom. The Queen loves jewels and keeps a safe full of her riches. The king is pretty weak and will do anything his queen says. 

The Spades: They are strong, ugly and not too bright. They really want a war.

The Clubs: They are peaceful and love nature. Their kingdom is not very powerful, but they don’t care. They hate war and send the Jack of Clubs to help you with your mission. 

The Plot: Every kingdom had an ace; it was their symbol of power. But as the years went by, all the kingdoms, except the hearts, lost their aces. That’s why they are the most powerful kingdom. When the ace of hearts is stolen, the queen recruits you to find it before the king declares war.

Dialogue: The queen tells you she thinks the queen of diamonds stole it because she is jealous and the heart is made of gold and diamonds. You go talk to the queen and you find her safe. Thinking the ace is in it you ask her to go in it. But she tells you she gave the key to someone else.

You meet the jack of clubs when you exit the castle. He tells you that you can get information from a flapjack, but he lives in the spades castle which is guarded. When you get to the spade castle, the king of spades storms out of the castle yelling to himself about how the king of hearts should just declare war already. He drops a note that you must pick up. On it is a list of things to do, and one of them says steal the ace. you can’t see the last letters because grape juice is spilled on it.

After that you must go through an open window into a room, but the door is locked to get out. You must customize a spades outfit hanging on the wall. Now, the guards will let you in, you find the bar and talk to a flapjack. He tells you if you can beat him in a game of hearts. (or any other card game) He will give you some info. After you beat him he tells you the jack of diamonds has the key.

You also find some stain cleaner in the bar, which you use to clean the piece of paper. It turns out it just says, steal the acorn. (don’t ask, I couldn’t think of anything else.) When you talk to the jack of diamonds, who is outside the diamond castle, he says he won’t trade it for anything. But you keep seeing him looking up and saying, big red diamond.

Now, you need to climb the Card Eiffel tower in the land of card creations, to find the big red diamond. You trade the diamond for the key and sneak into the safe and find the ace! The queen is banished to the land of jokers, even though she keeps saying she’s innocent. Everything is happy again in the card kingdom… or is it? The ace is on display, and the jack of clubs shows you something on the card. the gold looks like paint! GASP!

When you use your stain remover on it, gold paint comes off! the ace is a fake! Now you have to find special cards around the kingdoms to build a plane to rescue the queen of diamonds! When you fly to the land of jokers you find the queen, but also the jokers! They were banished there because no one played with them.

To escape the island, you must beat them in a game of giant spoons, were you must climb a mountain to reach the spoons. After you beat them, you fly back with the queen, who shows you a security camera. You rewind to the day of the theft, and see the jack of hearts putting the fake ace in the queens safe! You find him in the castle with the real ace of hearts!  You chase him to the queens room when he runs away.

When you get there, he’s gone! But you find footsteps leading to the bookcase, when you pull a book on it, a panel opens on the wall to a secret entrance! The secret passage leads to the temple of Tripoli. After going through lots of hard obstacles you find the jack of hearts AND the queen of hearts. The most glorious thing: On four pedestals are the four aces! The queen tells you all the kingdoms used to be one kingdom, joined together by the aces, but the kings and queens got greedy and took the aces for themselves, dividing the kingdoms. So she had stolen all the aces, and now that they are back together the kingdoms will join together once again! So there is a flash of light, and all the kingdoms join back together! The queen gives you a medal and the island is over. Congrats!

Wow, just wow. I can’t describe it! This was probably the most entertaining island, even though it hasn’t been made! I thought the war between the kingdoms was pretty cool, and so were the secret rooms and traits of the cards! Overall I’d give it 10/10.

Hey everyone! This is just a quick post informing you that the Creators just released the description for Mission Atlantis: Episode 2: Fortress of the Deep! If you didn’t know, Mission Atlantis: Ep.1: Into the Deep comes out for everyone next week!

Hmm, the description is clear you need to go into Atlantis! So this might be fun!

Also, I checked the files for Survival Episode 2: Hook, Line and Sinker, and they’ve already uploaded the whole island! It has all the areas, dialogue, items, and I already know what’s going to happen at the end of episode 2 :P So look forward to a post soon by HP, which contains all those details!

I think Episode 2 of Survival will come out this week or next week! Stay tuned for more info when it’s available!

In other exciting upcoming releases is the official Poptropica game app (currently only on iPad) which will be available to iPhones and iPod touches starting THIS week!

The Poptropica app is also expected to debut on the Google Play store sometime in the coming months. Stay tuned!

Hey everyone! The Creators just announced that Mission Atlantis (Ep. 1): Into the Deep has been released on the iPad and iPhone. Wait, they said iPhone? I looked, and sure enough, it’s true, and they have a trailer for it! The new Poptropica app is now available for iPhone/iPod touch for free!

To download the app, click here or search “Poptropica” on the App Store. The icon is the yellow blimp.

Also, the newest update to the Poptropica app fixes a bug that was causing some users’ progress to be overwritten when they installed a new update. So if you’ve got a saved game from the previous version, you can update to the new version without fear.

The official Poptropica game app works on iPad 2 and above, iPhone 4 and above, and iPod touch, so you’ll need one of these devices to be able to play it!

Complete Poptropica game on mobile

PHB reader and PTFP owner Silver Wolf recently informed everyone that for a small price of 5 dollars, you can play all of Poptropica on mobile — not just the islands that have been released on the Poptropica app! See below for the steps.

It works for both Apple and Android devices, which is something that the Poptropica app currently does not feature. Do note, however, that you will have to have an internet connection of some kind for this to work.

Here’s a basic outline of the steps involved:

1. Download the app “Photon” by Appsverse on the iTunes Store or Google Play Store. It costs US$4.99.
2. Wait for app to finish installing, then open it.
3. Enter “poptropica.com” in its search bar, then tap the lightning bolt to activate Flash. Enjoy!
4. To improve your mobile Poptropica app, click the gear icon to enter the Settings, and set the mode to “Game” and bandwidth to 6. You can choose from a few formats to play the game, but drag works best for Poptropica.

You can read her extensive directions here — remember that I have not been able to try this out, so if you do try it, tell us the results in the comments. :D

Shark Boy mystery: the Avatar Studio card

First alerted by Cool Octopus from the Pop Flop, the Avatar Studio card was recently removed from the store for obvious reasons — Shark Boy was on the front of it — and if you’ve been keeping up with recent posts, then you’ll know that Shark Boy is trying to be eradicated completely from everything, although some things still stick around.

Yesterday, the card was re-uploaded to the store, now with Master Mime on the front of card! If you had the original Avatar Studio Card in your inventory, it too is updated.

I’m sad that Shark Boy was replaced by Master Mime on the card; it just doesn’t feel the same. :/

New iPhone handheld

The iPad handheld for the Poptropica App was recently removed from everything — inventories, costume closets, etc. — that is, until it reappeared in a new ad that I found on Main Street of Early Poptropica and Monster Carnival. The video ad stand awards both the iPad handheld and a new iPhone handheld for watching the app trailer!
